Our Story

Love Doesn’t Hurt works to fill in the gaps in services by helping to provide emergency services to victims of crime in the LGBTQ+ Community while promoting Cultural Humility. Each client that is seen through Love Doesn’t Hurt is provided individualized services that are catered to their particular needs while keeping in mind the barriers the client may have due to their gender identity and sexual orientation when providing case management and referrals. In addition, Love Doesn’t Hurt provides training for staff of other agencies to help increase their Cultural Humility for when they serve clients of the LGBTQ+ Community.

Our Emergency Services Program takes the holistic approach to bringing resources to victims of crime in the LGBTQ+ Community. We provide crisis intervention complimented with educational sessions with our community partners to our clients build resiliency and regain stability after victimization. Providing case management that is customized for the individual needs of each client and addressing barriers that the LGBTQ+ Community faces.
